I am soooooooo happy. One of the remaining Dumont Contract holders just posted a content on this site that he received an email from Janet Crain. She informed him that Dumont contract holders will receive a letter very soon releasing them from the Dumont. Get ready for those deposit returns people!
And justice for all!!

District Chatter —
Now that our long, cold winter with The Doomont is finally coming to a merciful ending…I’m now focusing on finding a new home. If I’m not mistaken…I think you purchased a until at The Yale Steam Laundry. I had a contract there before The Dumont…but…the Yale deal fell through because that project almost collapsed about this time last year. I just got a call from Jennie Mann… a sales rep for Yale/McWB and they have a unit that I’m interested in buying. Are there any insights that you can share about The Yale?

The Yale is great. I would say- play let’s make a deal. The developer really wants to unload these places. We have found that in many ways, we ended up better off than if we were at the Dumont. What kind of unit are you looking at?

Is this the same Janet Crain that sent out letters to contract holders asking if they were still intending to close, despite the fact the building had been foreclosed on? Is this the same Janet Crain that sent out letters back in August telling contract holders to get financing lined up because they’re almost ready to close, despite the fact they were in default. I wouldn’t run out and spend them escrow checks.

Wow…so what is to become of that building? What a shame!

They (B-WAY) are also having problems leasing their rental project next to Union Station, Senate Square. Could that be snatched up by the bank…who knows?

What is happening at the 10th and G spot downtown?
They tore down the walk way today. That does not seem to be a good sign for them filling that hole they dug with a building.

I fund the answer to my own question:
From the newsletter of the church that used to be there:
“FINANCING FOR 10TH AND G FALLS THROUGH
We were disappointed to learn this week that the long
awaited financial backing for the development at 10th
and G has not come through. A primary potential lender
backed out just when it looked as though their conditions
had been met and the deal would move ahead. This
economic wilderness is affecting the entire world and
many people are losing jobs and suffering a great deal. It
is not apparent how and when things will turn around.
We have every confidence that PNHoffman/ERBacon
will continue to use all of their resources and contacts to
line up financing.
We must keep the faith that we own a valuable asset and
that someday economic conditions will improve and
lending will begin again. FCUCC/PNH/ERB will be
among the first in line, ready to spend money to put
people back to work on a project that is ready to go.
Even GM and Ford don’t seem to be able to make that
claim!”
